Description

A combination of Alcatraz interlocks are used to securely interlock MOV valves.
These MOV valves are often found in pig launcher / receiver systems, scraper traps etc.
The power actuated valves are part of the interlocking sequence in combination with manually operated valves and the closure door.

The interlock system for MOV valves must assure that the valve can be locked in fully open and/or fully closed position, interlocking the electrical, hydraulic or air operating mode as well as the manual override.
Even in case of a power failure the interlocking sequence should be maintained.
Because these actuators generate great torque forces a combination of interlocks is required.

Operation Example

Key A will be inserted in the DBL1 lock to unlock the open position of the valve.
Key X will be released from the DBL1. Now choose electrical operation or manual override and unlock one of the two options. Operate the valve to fully closed position.
Lock the electrical operation or manual override by taking out key X.
Insert key X into DBL2 lock to lock the closed position. Take out key B to continue your sequence with other valves or bring the key B to the control room.
