Description
Alcatraz closure door locks are mostly used in combination with interlocking of the venting and draining valves. The locks can be installed on all type of closure doors to interlock pig receiving or launching systems. If not operated correctly following a predetermined sequence these systems can be very dangerous.
Since there are many different closure doors the final design may vary, the principle of the closure doorlock however is always the same. As long as the door is open the key will be trapped. Only when the door is fully closed and the bleed bolt is back in position the door can be locked by taking out the key.
