Description

Alcatraz rail locks are specially designed to safeguard trains on discharge and loading stations when coupling and uncoupling loading arms, hoses and stairs.

Alcatraz rail locks are mostly used in combination with interlocking of the loading arms, hoses, pumps and stairs whether they are operated manually, pneumatically or hydraulically.
The interlock system for rail locks must assure that a train will not access a loading station unless all loading arms, hoses and stairs are locked in a safe position and cannot be damaged while entering. Visa versa the train cannot leave the loading station unless all loading arms, hoses and stairs are disconnected and locked in a safe position.
Furthermore it prevents a train getting access to a loading station while another train is already present at this loading station.
